
Walt Curnow
Walt has a postgraduate degree in security studies from the Department for Security Studies and Criminology at Macquarie University in Sydney. He also has extensive in country experience in the Middle East as a freelance journalist. He has published in numerous different media sources, including The Guardian, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Al Monitor, and The National. He has also worked as an editor with the famous Al Ahram newspaper in Cairo. Walt brings the kind of solid academic and research backgrounds coupled with on the ground experience that we prize in our team. Walt is in charge of NAMEA's open source research and geopolitical analytical team. He is trained in English, Spanish, and Arabic, and speaks colloquial Egyptian Arabic dialect.
